Research misconduct
Policy on Research Integrity
The e-Journal of Medical and Pharmaceutical Science (EJMPS) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of research integrity and ethical publishing. The journal does not tolerate any form of research misconduct and takes all allegations of unethical behavior seriously. All submitted manuscripts are expected to follow principles of honesty, transparency, originality, and responsible scientific reporting.
Forms of Research Misconduct
Research misconduct includes, but is not limited to, plagiarism, duplicate publication, data fabrication, data falsification, image manipulation, citation manipulation, authorship disputes, unethical experimentation, undisclosed conflicts of interest, and submission of misleading or false information. Any attempt to misrepresent research findings or violate publication ethics is considered a serious breach of academic integrity.
Plagiarism and Duplicate Submission
Authors must ensure that submitted work is original and has not been published or submitted elsewhere. Plagiarism in any form, including self-plagiarism, inappropriate citation, or unauthorized use of another person’s work, is strictly prohibited. Duplicate submission or redundant publication is also considered unethical and may lead to immediate rejection.
Data Fabrication and Falsification
Authors must present research data honestly and accurately. Fabrication of data refers to creating false results, while falsification involves manipulation or selective reporting of research findings. Both practices seriously undermine scientific credibility and are strictly prohibited by the journal.
Authorship Misconduct
All listed authors must have made significant academic contributions to the research and approved the final manuscript before submission. Gift authorship, ghost authorship, or exclusion of deserving contributors is considered unethical. Any authorship disputes must be resolved before submission.
Investigation of Misconduct
If suspected misconduct is identified during submission, review, or after publication, the editorial office will conduct a fair and confidential investigation. Authors may be asked to provide explanations, original data, ethical approvals, or supporting documents for verification.
Editorial Actions
Depending on the severity of the misconduct, the journal may take appropriate actions including manuscript rejection, request for correction, publication of erratum, article retraction, temporary or permanent submission ban, and notification to affiliated institutions or funding bodies where necessary.
Post-Publication Responsibility
Even after publication, if serious ethical concerns or misconduct are discovered, the journal reserves the right to issue corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern to protect the integrity of the scholarly record.
Commitment to Ethical Publishing
The journal remains dedicated to promoting responsible research conduct and preserving trust in scientific communication. Authors, reviewers, and editors are expected to uphold these ethical standards to ensure the credibility, quality, and reliability of published research.
