Archiving & Preservation Policy
The Bulletin of Humanities and Social Sciences (BHSS) is committed to ensuring the permanent availability, accessibility, and long-term preservation of all published scholarly content.
The journal recognizes the importance of safeguarding the academic record and ensuring continued global access to published research.
Self-Archiving (Green Open Access)
BHSS permits and encourages authors to deposit versions of their manuscripts in institutional repositories, subject-based repositories, and personal academic websites without embargo.
Authors may archive:
-
Pre-print versions (prior to peer review)
-
Accepted manuscripts (post-peer review, pre-publication)
-
Final published versions (publisher PDF)
All articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution–NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0) license, which allows non-commercial distribution, reuse, and archiving with proper attribution to the original authors and the journal.
Authors are encouraged to include a link to the official published version of record when archiving their work.
Digital Preservation and Long-Term Archiving
To ensure long-term digital preservation and protect against data loss, BHSS commits to archiving its published content in independent and trusted digital repositories.
The journal ensures that:
-
Published articles remain accessible even in the event of website disruption
-
Archived content is preserved in stable, recognized digital preservation platforms
-
Backup systems are maintained to protect the integrity of the scholarly record
BHSS supports digital preservation initiatives such as the Internet Archive and other recognized archiving services where applicable.
Persistent Identifiers and Metadata
All published articles are assigned Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) to ensure permanent discoverability and stable citation.
The journal:
-
Registers DOIs through an official registration agency (e.g., Crossref)
-
Maintains accurate and updated metadata
-
Makes article metadata available to indexing, archiving, and abstracting services
Persistent identifiers ensure that articles remain accessible and citable over time, regardless of changes to website structure or hosting arrangements.
BHSS is committed to maintaining the integrity, permanence, and accessibility of the scholarly record for the benefit of researchers, institutions, and the global academic community.
